Work on the restoration of some of the rooms started in January 2012 with money from the heritage Lottery Fund and the vale of Glamorgan Council.
Dyffryn House was opened to the public on 29th March 2013
Representatives of the Friends were invited to a previewon 28th March 2013.
Justin Albert, the National Trust Director for Wales, welcomed representatives from the Friends, Cardiff Astronomical Sciety, Dyffryn Croquet Club, the Welsh Assembly, the National Trust and Dyffryn staff and thanked all those involved with the project.
Work will continue with the refurbishment in the next few months and visitors are invited to watch and to make suggestions concerning future projects.
After the welcome guests were invited to sample the afternoon tea followed by a conducted tour of the rooms which are now open.
