The Friends was established as a charitable organisation in the early 1980′s and formally our aim is:
“Encouraging interest in the garden and donating plants, equipment, books etc. as funds allow. Supporting the management in the development and management of the estate. Promoting a range of educational activities for members related to horticulture and botany”
In practical terms we have a year-round programme of talks, coffee mornings, lunches and exclusive membership events for all members of the Friends. Exclusive access to ‘behind the scenes’ tours and membership previews of public events and tours held within the grounds or the house at Dyffryn.
We also have visits to other major gardens both public and private, seasonal lunches normally during the summer and Christmas periods, and discounted shopping events at the Dyffryn Shop.
Our fundraising is directed towards supporting the Gardens and the provision of education and information programmes for all ages.
Members receive the latest issues of the Friends Newsletter and occasional e-Newsletter
Above all, we all enjoy meeting and our broad schedule of events have served in creating a warm and friendly community of Friends in supporting the gardens.
We welcome all to join the Friends as individuals or as a family.
